Anti-LGBT advocate claims parents of transgender kids are child abusers

If you don’t know what the Liberty Action Counsel is, here’s all you need to know: They really do not like LGBT people and they once legally threatened a public library for rewarding kids who read a Harry Potter book in its entirety. So clearly, the greatest legal minds of our generation here.

Yes, minds so great in fact that according to Queerty, Matt Barber of the LAC is claiming that parents of transgender kids are child abusers. You know, because letting your kids be who they are and loving them unconditionally is chil abuse. These guys are like fucking MENSA up in here.

“In order to be hip and cool and trendy to facilitate this gender confusion,” says Barber, “and then to even prepare this baby for hormone abuse, to try to stall the onset of puberty, and to pump testosterone into this child, is nothing short of child abuse.” Barber says that not forcing children into their biologically gender is “illustrative of the decline of our society when it comes to parental responsibility.”

Wait, did this motherfucker say that being transgender is a fad? Nope. No it isn’t. Acid-wash jeans were a fad. Beanie Babies were a fad. Gangnam Style was a fad. Transgender people are people, and treating them with the dignity they deserve is what you as a good person are supposed to do.

Transgender kids aren’t confused; they know who they are and their parents are just trying to support them. If anything, they’re probably confused as to why blithering adults like Barber keep telling them they’re confused.

Although he’s right about one thing: It’s wrong for parents to try and force their children to be something they’re not. So if a parent tries to force their transgender kids to disregard who they are, then yeah, that’s shitty parenting. Unintended point well made Barber!
