Do LGBT people have an antisemitism problem?

At this year’s Creating Change conference of the American National LGBTQ Task Force, scandal broke out when an event by a Jewish group was abruptly cancelled in the face of protest. At Slate, Mark Joseph Stern says that the LGBT movement has an unsettling antisemitism problem. Bil Browning at LGBTQ Nation says the disruption was a sign of “special snowflake” syndrome saturating the queer community. At the Washington Blade, Kevin Naff says the protests were just rude. On the other side, the protesters argue that disruption was a feature, not a bug.

Year of the nipple

2015 was the year of the female nipple. The New York Times looks at the nipple liberation movement, and some New York women who have taken their nipples public with a vengeance, in a new video.

PETA: Stop masturbating killer whales

Animal rights organization PETA has launched an advertising campaign against SeaWorld in San Diego, alleging that SeaWorld employees sexually assault killer whales (or orcas) by extracting semen for mating. As of yet, PETA has been unable to find a billboard willing to take their ad.

The New York Times interviews Sun Wenlin, the Hunanese man challenging China’s lack of same-sex marriage. Meanwhile, pro-LGBT sentiment has surged in Hong Kong, and a new study shows the majority of citizens support LGBT civil rights protections.

Hope and anger on PrEP

Pre-exposure prophylaxis, or PrEP, could be on the verge of wiping out HIV in the San Francisco gay community, writes the Washington Post. At the same time, the maker of the PrEP drug Truvada is being sued for delaying the production of an HIV drug for marketing purposes.
