Man escapes from Don Jail

UPDATE: now back in custody

UPDATE 21 Jul 2009 9:44 am: Toronto police report that Forbes was arrested without incident on Jul 20.

20 July — Police are searching for a man who escaped from Toronto’s Don Jail on Jul 19.

Jordan Forbes, 25, was in jail awaiting trial on four counts of robbery when he snuck away by impersonating someone else.

He has been known to hang out in the Church Wellesley neighbourhood and police believe he may be hiding there.

Police advise anyone who knows Forbes’ whereabouts or sees him to call 911 or Crimestoppers at 800-222-TIPS.
