Pink Triangle Press is looking for an intrepid News Reporter with strong news judgment and well-honed journalism skills for our Toronto office.

If you are the right person for this role you will be able to create on-line content that is relevant and thought-provoking, and provide a critical perspective that engages readers in thoughtful discourse. You will ensure that Editorial directives, standards, and objectives are implemented, and that content and information are effectively disseminated to DailyXtra’s publics via all media employed.

You thrive on being a reporter, and are not afraid to tackle sensitive issues or ask hard questions. You have a natural “nose for news", and have the ability to identify great story ideas that reflect the zeitgeist of the LGBT community. You are well able to research, produce, and edit assignments, as well as package the content for our print and on-line publications.  

You will have proven skills and experience including, but not limited to the following:

  • Editorial skills; writing, research, investigative journalism
  • Strong computer skills; MS Office Suite, electronic publishing, Internet
  • Good knowledge of Toronto’s LGBT community, sexual politics, and cultures
  • Strong familiarity with journalism practices and standards, related laws (libel, obscenity, etc.)
  • Knowledge of Pink Triangle Press’ history, mission, and role within the national and local communities
  • An effective and enthusiastic team player
