Online MEDIA PLANNER (Toronto)

Pink Triangle Press is looking for an Online Media Planner to drive quality traffic to PTP’s websites. This position is responsible for identifying the best mix of media channels to deliver advertising messages to the Press’ target audience to produce maximum exposure, within budget.  

If you are the right person for this role, you are able to achieve and exceed monthly and annual targets of the following metrics in regards to overall traffic and traffic type; including but not limited to: site visits, membership, revenue, bounce rate, CPA, ROI, and registration conversation rate.

You will have additional proven skills and experience including, but not limited to, the following:

  • Obtaining, analyzing, and successfully applying  media and traffic generation trends, best practices and strategies in the  online industry (with special attention to the gay and lesbian industry) to drive quality traffic to PTP  websites
  • Analyzing and researching the target audience’s character, purchasing, and media habits
  • Presenting media proposals, including timings and cost breakdowns, helping the Press to reach a final decision about their future advertising strategy
  • Managing budgets and maintaining advertising spend records
  • Monitoring and analyzing competition for media, PR, SEO, SEM and traffic generation activities
  • Utilizing tools (including but not limited to: Google, Bing, Facebook, and tier II and III search engines and traffic generators) to drive quality traffic
  • Expanding and optimizing SEO and SEM keyword lists
  • Identifying key performance indicators related to media, and online traffic generation activities

Required Competencies

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communication, Business
  • 3-5 years of professional experience in the field of online marketing, e-commerce, marketing communication
  • Proven strong analytical acumen and experience
  • Proven success of managing online campaigns, media relation and traffic generation
  • Knowledge of internet industry (interactivity, connectivity, e-commerce and enterprise)
  • Experience with web tools like Google Analytics, Google Adwords, Yahoo, Bing ads, Traffic generator tools
  • Knowledge of sexual politics and history
  • Strong communication and presentation skills (oral and written)

Pink Triangle Press is looking for an energetic, business-savvy manager to head up our new Social Sponsorship program. The Social Sponsorship Account Manager will encourage and support activism in our LGBT communities, with an emphasis on activism that advances the mission and values of PTP.

If you are the right person for this role you will possess an entrepreneurial spirit, and have the ability and experience to create partnerships that effectively bring together resources and causes. You will have the ability to oversee the coordination and administration of all aspects of the social sponsorship program, including planning, organizing, staffing, leading, and controlling program activities.

You will also have a Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g. business administration, marketing) and experience in either fundraising, political organizing, sponsorship, sales or advertising.

Your additional proven skills and experience will include, but not be limited to the following

  • A minimum of 3-5 years experience in a related field
  • Proficiency in MS Office and Google-based computer applications
  • Knowledge of sponsorship or corporate partnership program management
  • Experience in or knowledge of public relations, prospecting and negotiation
  • Familiarity with campaign management
  • Proficiency in computer-based simple accounting and database management
  • Experience in volunteer management
  • Experience in employee management, including remote management
  • Event management skills, including superior meeting management skills

Pink Triangle Press is looking for a DevOps Engineer to be responsible for supporting the ongoing operation of hardware and software systems that support the Press’ public-facing websites and internal systems. Alongside a team composed of developers and system administrators, the successful candidate will implement a DevOps environment throughout the organization, as well as ensure that all live systems and components support maximum uptime.

Your additional proven skills and experience will include, but not be limited to the following:

  • 3+ years network management, Windows & Linux server administration & management
  • 2+ years automating with Prometheus
  • 3+ years managing Tibco Spotfire infrastructure
  • 3+ years experience with MySQL and MSSQL administration
  • Experience in high availability environments and data centres
  • Server virtualization experience particularly VMware ESXi deployment experience
  • Storage management concepts (preferably EMC)
  • Solid experience with Microsoft IIS, Microsoft SQL Serve
  • Familiarity with SNMP, Syslog, WMI, and application
  • Drupal, and Wordpress knowledge a plus
  • Strong documentation skills with superior grasp of the English language
  • Experience with continuous integration is preferred
  • Experience architecting applications in AWS
  • Work well within an Agile environment

Your main duties & responsibilities will be to:

  • Build out Prometheus across all systems and platforms
  • Manage and support Tibco Spotfire implementation
  • Automate monitoring and alert systems for all critical environments
  • Be part of a team that deploys releases on a four week cycle
  • Add and configure new services as necessary
  • Troubleshoot network and server issues
  • Supporting the web development team in planning and deploying new releases. This includes the development and maintenance of development, test and staging environments
  • Proactively communicate issues and provide reporting as required
  • Provide capacity planning, performance tuning and backup/recovery
  • Perform on-call duties, 24 hours per day, 7 days per week
