Exploring kinky Europe 2016

Upcoming leather and fetish events

Whether it’s a frisky weekend on your grand European tour or the main point of your trip, Europe’s kink and fetish calendar is packed with world-class events, parties, fetish fairs and more. Here are two upcoming kink events returning this fall.

Folsom Europe

Berlin, Germany

Sept 7–11, 2016

It’s no surprise that the world’s most famous fetish event has found its way to Europe — or even to Berlin. Folsom Europe is similar to its San Francisco counterpart, closing off several blocks of Fuggerstrasse in Schöneberg. It allows attendees to check as much or as little clothing as they’d like at the entrance before browsing the many booths, stalls and demos. As a street fair, the more public atmosphere can feel somewhat wilder on the surface than the party-driven BLF, but not all the fun is had on the street. The annual Pig Party makes its intentions clear in the name, while other famous venues such as the Kit Kat Club join in on the fun with events of their own.

Leather Pride Weekend

Amsterdam, The Netherlands

Oct 27–31, 2016

Not to be outdone, the home of both RoB and Mister B has one of the world’s most robust fetish communities and one of Europe’s biggest leather prides. Culminating in the notorious Damage party, Amsterdam spreads its event across a dozen venues to turn the city into one big kinkster’s playpen over six days. Combining Amsterdam’s regular queer calendar with special parties and kink workshops, it’s also a good event for first timers wanting to experience “typical” Amsterdam gay nightlife — if it could ever be described as such — alongside Leather Pride.
