Arrests made in Dixie beating

Man and woman charged with assault

The Ottawa Police announced at 8:15am Jun 28 that two people have been charged in connection with the May 26 assault on Michael Marcil.

The police charged Andrew Lefebvre, 25, with assault causing bodily harm and Sheri-Lee Rand, 29, with assault in connection with the fight at Centretown Pub which landed Marcil, better known as his drag alter-ego Dixie Landers, in a coma for a week.

Rand and Lefebvre have both been released and are first scheduled to appear in court Jul 26, according to police.

“A female subject was also injured and required medical attention for non-life threatening injuries to her face,” says the OPS press release.

Marcil, who suffered head injuries that put him in critical condition, spent a month recovering in hospital. He was released this week and is now resting at his mother’s home in Petawawa.
