Deputy premier George Smitherman’s dropped his biggest hints yet that he’s going to be running for the mayoralty. Expect at least three more months of will-he-won’t-he drama that I don’t have the patience to come up with jokes for.

In the meantime, the Toronto International Film Festival is opening, and Xtra has your queer picks. It’s still possible to get tickets to most shows, so get out there and see some great movies you likely won’t get to see on a big screen again.
