One of the most common observations on the declining culture of homophobia is that it’s being “aged out” as people with homophobic sensibilities pass on. Personally, I’m of the mind that there are plenty of shitheads born in this generation, and you cannot find a better ally than a grandparent.

Seriously, the grandparent ally is one of the most ride-or-die friends you can have. They’re caring, nurturing and well past the point of giving a shit. They’re perfect.

Most allies would just give a newly out teen a pat on the back and a hug. He permanently marked his body to show his devotion. That’s kind of badass.
