Great jokes from Cleveland

BY ADAM M GLEN – You know, there are a few things you should never make jokes about. I have a pretty good feeling that using rape as a tool to rid a teenaged girl of homosexuality is right up near the top.

But maybe someone should have mentioned that to Dominic Dieter, a personality from Cleveland's popular Rover's Morning Glory on 100.7 The Buzzard. During the show last Friday, Dieter received an email from a father who caught his teenaged daughter kissing another girl. Dieter's sensitive and kind response was, "You should get one of your friends to screw your daughter straight."

GLAAD quickly condemned the comment for its grossly sexist, homophobic and barbaric tones. Between the outcry from GLAAD, listeners and the public, Dieter was forced to apologize on Monday. "I just wanted to say that, I know on the show this past Friday I made some comments that people found . . . considered to be offensive," he said live on the morning show. "And I just wanted to say, I understand why people are angry. I want to genuinely apologize to anyone who may have been offended by what I said."

Despite his apology, one of Dieter's colleagues launched a poll asking whether he should be allowed to continue in his job. As of midnight on April 30, 80 percent of respondents opposed his return to work at the station. The forums on the show's website were less sympathetic to the cause, calling GLAAD "Butthurting c**ts."

I'm going to lay down. I'm not sure I can handle this much stupid.
