Honey Boo Boo’s Uncle Poodle sums up Spirit Day

I was a little late on the Honey Boo Boo train. I’m not usually a big fan of redneck Americans who think spaghetti with ketchup and butter is a nutritious meal. But one day, I was down with a cold, and since it was impossible to do anything productive besides blowing my nose, I stayed in bed all day and watched every episode of Here Comes Honey Boo Boo. What struck me the most about America’s new favourite family is how happy they are. With their lives, with each other and with themselves.

The love they have for their uncle Lee Thompson, aka Uncle Poodle, is stronger than any hatred gay people face in this world. Listen to Poodle remind us what Spirit Day is all about:
