I’m Team Peeta now

To be perfectly honest, I started reading The Hunger Games around the time the movie came out, mostly because I originally thought the whole thing was basically just a redux of Twilight, and like fuck was I going to read another brick full of impenetrable text about unlikable protagonists doing unjustifiable things.

Turns out, The Hunger Games is actually really good. And I like the fact that the entire story doesn’t hinge on the love triangle of Katniss/Peeta/Gale, which I have to admit is the most tedious part of the book. Mostly because I’m Team Cinna.

Anyway, if you haven’t heard by now, Josh Hutcherson (who plays Peeta in the movie) is a huge supporter of gay rights. And while accepting his GLAAD media award, Hutcherson made it a point to hope for a world where someone’s love and humanity comes before their sexuality. It’s good to see a straight guy with such a good head on his shoulders. Suck it, Gale — I’m Team Peeta now.
