In memoriam

I know a lot of people are saying that making a big deal out of the 10th anniversary of 9/11 is rather arbitrary since the events aren’t suddenly sadder or more life-changing because it’s been a full decade. But that’s not the point. When people lose someone, they tend to commemorate the date the loved one passed. Does it help? Not really, but it keeps the memory alive, and for some people that’s really all they have.

Anyway, in honour of the 10th anniversary of the attacks on the World Trade Center, StoryCorps put together a bunch of animated retellings of people’s final moments with loved ones who died that day. Warning you right now: you may get something in your eye watching these. So maybe don’t watch this at work unless you want to explain to everyone how dusty it is.
