Homosexuality is illegal in 77 countries.
In seven of those 77 countries, men, women and children can be put to death because of their sexuality.
Until 1969, it was a crime to be gay in Canada.
Gay youth are five times more likely to kill themselves than heterosexual youth because of the homophobia they face in society, their communities, their schools and their homes.
