There is a lot about my job at Xtra that I love, but filming the Pride parade, with my amazing producer Robin Perelle and videographer Angelina Cantada for the second year in a row, has become my ultimate favourite. Not only is it fun and outrageous, it also has meaning. A few weeks ago I blogged a Pride parade video from the ‘70s, and it was so interesting to see the gay community of that era in all their self-expression glory. It made me realize how important it is to archive our love so that every future generation can see exactly what we’ve been fighting for.
