Keep believing, keep pretending

I was faced with two things to write about today. First off, today is the International Day Against Homophobia, so part of me wants to do a shout-out to queer kids everywhere. Also, yesterday was the anniversary of the death of Jim Henson, and since his Muppets essentially shaped me as a wee faglet, I wanted to do something for him, too. Clearly, I had a decision to make.

I did both.

Let’s face it – The Muppet Show was all about a bunch of theatre-loving weirdos and misfits who come together as a family to do what they love. It was about loving who you are and doing what you love because someone, somewhere, believes in you and loves you. Basically, the Muppets were like a less pretentious version of Lady Gaga (which, come to think of it, would explain a lot about what she wears). Anyway, watch the video. If you don’t mysteriously get some dust in your eye, you have no soul, and we can no longer be imaginary internet friends.
