Man killed in Church-Wellesley identified as Ramsey Whitefish

Suspect charged with second-degree murder

Police have identified the man who was found dead in Church-Wellesley Village earlier this week as 42-year-old Ramsey Whitefish.

Whitefish was found in front of 60 Gloucester St shortly after midnight on May 18, 2016,Wednesday and was pronounced dead on the scene.

He had suffered obvious physical trauma.

Police told reporters on Wednesday morning that Whitefish had been seen in the area wearing a fedora and had a sleeping back shortly before he was found dead. Officers were canvassing witnesses and video footage from cameras in the area.

His family has been notified of his death.

Detective Paul Worden told CP24 that police believe Whitefish had been killed with a rock that was found near his body.

Police arrested Whitefish’s roommate the same day and charged him in relation to his death.

Trevor Severin, 24, has been charged with second-degree murder. He made his first court appearance on May 19.
