Greg Louganis, Olympic gold medal winner and 53-year-old silver fox, has taken the dive — this time into marriage! Louganis married his 52-year-old partner, Johnny Chaillot, a paralegal, in a sunset ceremony at a Malibu restaurant, Geoffrey’s, overlooking the beach.
The couple met only 18 months ago and became in engaged in April, but Louganis, who is a coach on ABC’s Splash, says he’s ready for “a new chapter” in his life.
“It was amazing because I have so many people from all facets of my life here tonight and they are all here and celebrating it is all wonderful,” Louganis told People magazine. “I already feel different.”
He also took to his Facebook to share the happy news:
"Last night was magical!” he wrote. “I am so blessed! Johnny Chaillot walked down the aisle by his sisters, and me by my coach Ron O’Brien, and Maggie Stern, my Jewish Mother who was always there thru so much! What can I say, family, theater, dance, diving, yoga, olympics, celebrities, school, dogs, dog agility, gym, charities, activism, TV, film, and all “friends”! Much love shared, but mostly a new chapter with my now husband, Johnny Chaillot-Louganis."
