Choice events in the city this week

Fit: Pan Am Games Edition

This party is just an excuse to grope hot athletes. For shame! In a dancey salute to the Pan Am Games and local gay sports leagues, DJs Phil V and Kris Steeves invite athletes and their admirers to shake their booties to some hot beats.

Friday, July 10, 10:30pm. Zipperz, 72 Carlton St. For more info, visit Facebook.

Pandorazboxx and DJ Black Cat’s party includes three strippers from the USA: King Kellz, from Atlanta; Neiko, from Washington, DC; and Suki, from Dallas, Texas. Attendees are invited to “bring that tip money and make it rain for your favourite entertainer.”

Saturday, July 11, 10pm. Club 120, 120 Church St.

Queer Summer Slowdance

Letter writing is gone. So’s the penny. TV and talking on the phone are on their way out. But now and then you can still go somewhere, fill out a dance card and gently sway while holding a stranger. Designated dancers are on hand to coax out the wallflowers.

Friday, July 10, 9:30pm. The Gladstone Hotel, 12154 Queen St W.

Queer and Trans Family Event: Fun in the Park

Celebrate diversity by petting a cow’s nose, rubbing a horse’s butt or quacking at a duck. Queer and trans families pack picnic lunches and head to Riverdale Farm for a safe, supportive and empowering day with like-minded folk.

Saturday, July 11, 10:30am. Riverdale Farm, 201 Winchester St. For information on this and similar events, visit

Homicide & Hilarity

Murder at 120: 1920s Speakeasy

It’s all fun and games until somebody gets killed. Well, even then it’s fun. Attendees are given roles and must solve the mystery (unless you’re the murderer — then it’s all fake smiles and obfuscation while the others scramble to catch you). For reservations, call 416-792-7725.

Saturday, July 11, 8pm. 120 Diner, 120 Church St.
