The (Post) Mistress
Marie-Louise Painchaud, the endearing Métis postmistress of the fictional village of Lovely, Ontario, has the ability to read the townspeople’s mail through the envelopes. She turns what she learns into songs. The Toronto premiere of acclaimed playwright and musician Tomson Highway’s musical includes songs with Cree lyrics.

Arabian Knights Halloween
The new inclusive dance party returns with a Halloween edition. A henna tattoo artist is on site, and there are belly dancing performances. This is a queer Middle Eastern dance party, but it’s open to everyone — you just have to be ready to dance to some amazing Arabic music. DJ Louay spins gyration-inspiring beats. Costumes are encouraged, of course.
10pm–3am. Club 120, 120 Church St. For more info, visit Facebook.
The queer Asian club night, Asian Xpress, returns with, according to billing, “ectoplasmic beats” for Halloween. DJ Sumation spins, and drag performer Sofonda Cox is joined by VaChina Dynasty on the stage. The AX Maximus go-go dancers shake their little butts for an audience of ghoulishly-attired revelers who are vying to win cash in the costume competition.

Northbound Leather Fetish Fashion Show: XXX
It’s the time of year when a host of sexy guys and girls put on slutty leather outfits and strut up and down a runway. This year, the leather and fetish shop’s annual fundraiser includes a special appearance by bondage expert Midori. It’s also the store’s 30th anniversary, so the festivities include a retrospective of the apparel and accessories that the shop has churned out over the years.

Trade: Cocks and Caftans
Just when you think you’ve left a particular icky fashion trend behind, it makes a horrifying return. But in this case, at least there are penises involved. The filthy club night for guys is back and this time it has a caftan theme. According to billing, attendees are encouraged to wear caftans, but “keep your junk free underneath.” DJs Jeffrey Sfire and Scooter McCreight spin.

Songs and Screams 2: The Halloween Show
Dirty Bird Theatre hosts a Halloween event with horror-enthusiast, (and a guy who’s almost annoyingly pretty) Nathaniel Bacon as the star. He is joined by Dora Award–winning actor Elley Ray for a spooky, eclectic cabaret with live music and theatre and — most terrifying of all — poetry. It’s complete with a 50/50 draw and hair-raising costume contest.
8pm. The Social Capital Theatre, 154 Danforth Ave. For more info, visit Facebook.
