In honour of the recent suicide of 14-year-old Jamey Rodemeyer, some very touching little monsters have put together a video, reaching out to victims of bullying and those thinking of ending their lives while demanding the government make an anti-bullying law. I hope officials listen, because bullying is a hate crime, and it's taking too many lives.
Lady Gaga also gave a tribute to Jamey, dedicating her song "Hair" to him at the iHeart Radio Festival. She says it best: "Bullying is for losers." It's obvious she loves her fans. Since Jamey was a self-professed little monster, gave Gaga a shout-out on his It Gets Better YouTube video, and tweeted her a farewell before he killed himself, I'm sure this has been devastating for her. It's been devastating for a lot of people. I can only hope that Jamey's death marks the beginning of a change. We have the power to prevent the loss of anyone else. How can we start? The Purple Letter Campaign is a good place. We may not be able to change the world, but we can change British Columbia and hope that the world follows our lead.
