Peter Rauhofer dead at 48

World famous DJ, producer, remixer and owner of the infamous Star 69 Records

Peter Rauhofer was a Grammy Award-winning producer.
Peter Rauhofer died Tuesday, May 7 from a brain tumour, his manager, Angelo Russo, announced.

Rauhofer began his career as an artist representative for GiG Records, based in Austria, and went on to become one of the world’s most in-demand remixers, putting his golden touch on tracks by Cher, Madonna, Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, Depeche Mode, Pink, Mariah Carey, Duran Duran, David Guetta, Kylie Minogue, Murk, Whitney Houston and many more. He was also the founder of Star 69 Records.

An impressive DJ schedule had Rauhofer crisscrossing the world regularly, and Toronto Pride attendees had the treat of hearing him man the decks at the closing Revival party for 11 years.

He is survived by his mother, Helga, who lives in Austria.
