Pick of the week: The Catherine Tate Show

If there’s anything we can learn from Ab Fab and Little Britain, it’s that gays love Brits.

We go nuts over the high brow yet bawdy comedy that comes from the land of meat pies and bangers ’n’ mash.

Now Catherine Tate is joining the ranks of internationally popular Britcom stars with her tongue-in-cheek take on British society. She has been around the UK for a while, but she’s winning a few chuckles on this side of the pond thanks to YouTube and the North American DVD release of her BBC sketch comedy program The Catherine Tate Show.

It’s thanks to her that words like impertinent, woofter and receiver of swollen goods have become part of my everyday vocabulary.
