Picks of the Week: Pet Shop Boys live

I remember a time before Gaga and iThings when a boy who loved dance music may as well have been wearing a shirt that said “I Heart Penis.” In the post-grunge ’90s, dance music was soooo gay.

Luckily, there were a few happy mediums that gave dance lovers a shred of street cred. Even those who bled for Kurt Cobain admitted to loving the Pet Shop Boys and knew the lyrics to West End Girls.

The Pandemonium CD/DVD is the live recording of the Boys’ last tour and features some of the songs that have kept them relevant and cutting edge for almost 30 years.

They may have been around for a while, but if you look at the liner notes of your favourite artists, you’ll probably see the Pet Shop Boys’ names in there somewhere. They’re in more shit than corn syrup.
