BY ADAM GLEN – Hope you got all that Santorum out of your system. Now that Rick has dropped out of the 2012 Republican presidential race, Mitt Romney has all but snagged the nomination. The guys and gals at Gawker decided to celebrate by releasing a clip from a Fox News interview in which Romney uses a mock "gay guy voice" when asked if he wants a pink tie.
Romney has a mixed history on queer issues. While he signed a pledge last August saying he would support a constitutional amendment to define marriage as between one man and one woman, he has opposed such measures in the past. Despite his flip-flopping, he has proven more queer-friendly than his previous competition.
On to a follow-up to a Roundup from earlier this week: EA Games, publisher of the popular role-playing games Mass Effect 3 and Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, has refused to remove an option that allows players to enter same-sex relationships in both games. A protest organized by the Florida Family Association resulted in "thousands of letters" being sent to EA. Despite this, EA has insisted that the Entertainment Software Rating Board gave both games appropriate ratings.
After all, if you've spent all day saving the universe, don't you deserve to climb into bed with whom you want?
