‘Gay Pimp Daddy’ Jonny McGovern loves Montreal

Jonny “Gay Pimp” McGovern says cuisine, culture, nightlife and local hot gays were his inspiration for French Kiss. Queer MTL

Singer-songwriter-rapper-comedian Jonny "Gay Pimp Daddy" McGovern rose to fame for such funny and provocative dance hits as "Dickmatizedand "Sexy Nerd."

In this video interview, McGovern opens up about his career as a gay rapper, his favourite places to party in Montreal, and his "French Kiss" music video, an original song he wrote just for the city.

McGovern was in Montreal to take part in Do Your Thing in MTL, a new video series by Queer MTL that celebrates some of the best LGBT talents in North America by inviting them to Montreal to use the city as their stage. Using Montreal cuisine, culture, nightlife and local hot gays as his inspiration, McGovern wrote "French Kiss."

McGovern’s visit included a day full of shooting at iconic Montreal landmarks, including Poutine heaven La Banquise, Avenue Mont-Royal, Parc Laurier and the Bilboquet ice cream shop with sexy extras Jimmy, Leo, Eric, Jean-François and Robert.

After a brief nap at Hotel Le Crystal to recuperate, Jonny checked out what the Montreal gay strip clubs had to offer — lots of poles, rock-hard abs and bouncy butts.
