Police look to community for leads in disappearance of three men

Xtra speaks with Constable Tony Vella

Skandaraj "Skanda" Navaratnam has been missing since Sept 6, 2010.
Toronto Police Service is linking the disappearances of three men known to live near or frequent the Church and Wellesley area.

Skandaraj “Skanda” Navaratnam went missing on Sept 16, 2010, after leaving Zipperz with an unknown man. Abdulbasir “Basir” Faizi went missing on Dec 29, 2010. He was last seen in the Church-Wellesley area. And Majeed “Hamid” Kayhan was last seen on Oct 14, 2012.

The police, who are treating all three as missing-persons cases, say the three have “similar ethnicity” and a “similar lifestyle.”

“We are urging anyone who may know who the three men are – if you haven’t contacted police, please give us a call,” Constable Tony Vella says. “Regardless if you think the info is relevant or not, call us, because it could very well be relevant.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Toronto police at 416-808-5110, anonymously at 416-222-TIPS (8477), via the internet at 222tips.com or text TOR and your message to CRIMES (274637).
