Audited financial statements will be presented at Pride Toronto’s (PT) general meeting scheduled for Jan 27.
PT executive director Tracey Sandilands says no venue has been secured yet for the 6:30pm meeting.
The meeting was originally scheduled for Dec 14, which was in conflict with the racialized Community Advisory Panel, so a new date had to be found. The new date was announced on Dec 15.
There will also be a few bylaw amendments proposed at the meeting, Sandilands says, adding that the amendments will be publicized on the PT website by mid-January.
“There will be a special resolution to expand the board to 12 directors,” she says. “That is something the community has been asking for, but it requires a special resolution by the members.”
For those who can’t attend, a proxy can be sent in to nominate a potential director using the nomination forms, she says. All proxy votes must be received by noon on Jan 25 at secretary@pridetoronto.com.
Each person may hold a maximum of one proxy vote, Sandilands says.
“There was some discrepancies about proxies at the annual general meeting,” she says. “Some people had more than one, so the board decided it was not a good idea and proxy votes should be limited to one vote per person.”
