“Sexy,” “F-Bombs”… Is this the Conservative Party?

So, uh, Liberals are calling for a GTA-area Conservative minister’s head because she called a crisis “sexy”? Pass me the vomit bucket.

Meanwhile, another Conservative toolbox literally tells Toronto to “fuck off”. Transport minister John Baird apparently made the comment when he accidentally ranted his way into the media room at the Federation of Canadian Municipalities meeting yesterday. If you’re scratching your head wondering what the queer angle is on this story, you haven’t been paying close attention. Our own mayor Miller managed to display a bit of class in his reaction to the news, earning what may be the National Post’s first positive coverage of him.

Toronto is just crawling with arts events now, with Luminato taking over the city until Sunday. I wish I could participate, but I’ll be spending the rest of this week and next at the Montreal Fringe Festival debuting my new solo show, Fucking Stephen Harper: How I Sexually Assaulted the 22nd Prime Minister of Canada and Where It Got Me, which is based on my three years writing for this paper. Don’t sweat, I’ll be bringing the show to the Toronto Fringe in July. But I’ll be writing my next few entries from La Belle Province. Enjoy TO, and try not to break anything while I’m gone.
