Showtime creating series about teen drag queens

Showtime has just announced plans to create a drama series about New York City's underground ball culture. The new series is to be directed by Lee Daniels (Precious) and written by W Merritt Johnson, known for HBO's In Treatment. It will feature teenaged drag queens and minorities in the gay community. This is so amazing! Underground New York City balls were first documented in Jennie Livingston's 1990 documentary, Paris Is Burning.
