Suds and studs

More than a brief encounter, Tightey Whitey Car Wash has raised almost $40,000 for PWA Foundation

The concept is simple: sexy men in their underwear washing your car for charity. What better Sunday afternoon diversion?

The Tighty Whitey Car Wash, presented by Steamworks, will take place Sunday, July 21 from Noon to 4pm in the laneway beside Steamsworks (540 Church St).

"More than 30 volunteers will be out to raise money for the Toronto People With AIDS Foundation," says John Broadhagen, general manager of Steamworks. "This is our seventh year for the event and we have raised close to $40,000 for PWA."

"It started as a charity function put on by Mr. Steamworks and it's a great community event that gets a lot of attention and allows us the opportunity to give back to the community," says Broadhagen.

Two DJs will spin amongst the suds to motivate the wash boys: Toronto's own Dwayne Minard, along with  Australia's Kitty Glitter, who is stopping by as part of her North American tour.

There’s an after-party at Woody’s at 4pm, followed by Miss Conception’s show at 6pm.
