Someone turned me on to Tegan and Sara back when I was in high school, thanks to their album The Con. Back then, they were this very cute, fun rock band with the awesome, android-like vocals.
Well, after teaming up with DJs like Tiësto and Morgan Page for a couple mainstream radio dance hits, Tegan and Sara are back with a bit of a new sound; Closer eschews the simple guitar and piano songs from their past in favour of shimmery, ‘80s synths. Imagine the kind of song that might play over the end credits of a Brat Pack movie as Judd Nelson pumps his fist in the air and the credits roll. Which is to say, the song is good and I approve wholeheartedly.
