Ten Oaks raises $30K at bowl-a-thon

PTY team wins spirit prize

The Ten Oaks Project raised over $30,000 at its fourth annual bowl-a-thon Mar 1. That represents a $10,000 jump over 2007, making the bowl-a-thon among the most profitable queer fundraisers on the Ottawa calendar, after Taste for Life and Walk for Life. Ten Oaks runs a weeklong sleep-away camp for children in queer families. The Lesbian Information Xchange (LIX) team took the prize for the day’s biggest fundraiser. The team from Pink Triangle Youth, above, picked up the spirit prize.
