The Children’s Aid Society at Ottawa Pride

The organization’s activities during the fest and beyond

With Ottawa gearing up to celebrate the 30th Pride festival, the Children’s Aid Society (CAS) would like to share some of the activities that it has planned for Pride and beyond.

Ottawa’s 30th Pride Festival, Monday, Aug 17–Sunday, Aug 23, 2015

Be a part of Ottawa’s most colourful festival by participating in a couple of amazing events. The LGBT community is a strong ally of the Children’s Aid Society of Ottawa, and we are proud to work with the LGBT community for Pride again this year. To that end, CAS will be part of the Picnic in the Park event, marching with a float in the parade and having an info booth at the community fair. LGBT folks and allies are all welcome.

Picnic in the Park
Wednesday, Aug 19, 3–6pm

Hintonburg Park/Community Centre, 1064 Wellington St, Ottawa

LGBT families and allies are invited to enjoy a free bbq and afternoon of family-friendly activities like face painting, crafts and games. The CAS will be on site with an information booth

Pride Parade and Community Fair
Sunday, Aug, 23, 1pm
Starts at Gladstone and Bank streets (heart of the Village), Ottawa

You and your family are invited to participate in this exciting event. Walk in the parade or show support at the community fair. Everyone is welcome to participate — the more the merrier. All participants are encouraged to dress up in bright colours and/or bring fun props. Mystery prizes will be awarded to the best-dressed team or individual.

Our team has worked hard on our float again this year and we are really excited and proud to be a part of this great parade.
