Tories target squeegees

The Ontario government introduced a bill to help stamp out “aggressive” squeegees this week. (It will also make the disposal of used condoms in public places punishable by fines of up to $500.)

And University Of Toronto students (including a large gay contingent) are going into week 13 of sleeping in Allan Gardens to protest Tory policies on homelessness.

They’ve been bringing sleeping bags to the park every Friday night.

“The Ontario government gave us no good news in the latest throne speech. How many people will have to die before they act?” asked Oriel Varga, U of T student demonstrator, in a press release.
