Toronto goes apeshit for Glee (or Proud FM does at least)

Ohmigod, ohmigod. Glee returns next week, and boy are we ever getting excited bombarded with press releases from the folks over at CanWest. Not that, when it comes to lefty high school comedies filled with pop music and camp, we mind.

So the latest is that Toronto is getting an all-new, all-Glee themed radio station called GLEE FM. Well, sort of. Turns out Toronto’s PROUD FM 103.9 will be dedicating a whopping 16 hours to the TV show on Mon, April 12, with interviews, music and, um, 14.5 hours of other Glee-related content. It’s going to be epic.

The press release also includes the following sneak peak of next week’s episode. This isn’t new info, I don’t think, but it might be new to casual fans. For instance, that the episode guest-stars Idina Menzel (the original Maureen in Rent; the original Alphaba in Wicked). Here’s what we know CanWest emailed us:

New Directions is fresh off their monumental win at Sectionals and feeling on top of the world. With an extra spring in their step, they get to work on new numbers for Regionals – including a memorable rendition of The Beatles’ “Hello, Goodbye.” But when Rachel (Lea Michele) and Finn’s (Cory Monteith) budding romance hits a bump in the road after she becomes involved with a competitor, Jesse St. James (guest star Jonathan Groff), it threatens to derail the entire club. Mr. Schuester (Matthew Morrison) pays a visit to Shelby Corcoran (guest star Idina Menzel), coach of Vocal Adrenaline, to confirm Jesse’s motives. Meanwhile, Will is newly single, but is he ready to take his relationship with Emma (Jayma Mays) to the next level? And to top it all off, Sue Sylvester (Jane Lynch) returns from her condo in Boca with a renewed focus on destroying Will and disbanding the glee club.

Tune into GLEE FM 103.9 on Monday, April 12. Catch the new episode of Glee on Global on Tuesday, April 13 at 9:25pm.
