Tory and Wynne show PrideHouse Toronto support

Mayor, premier and lieutenant-governor visit during Pan Am Games

A number of key dignitaries and politicians took the time to visit PrideHouse Toronto during the Pan Am Games on July 24, 2015.

Ontario Premier Kathleen Wynne took a tour of the PrideHouse Pavilion. Her government helped fund PrideHouse Toronto with the aim of improving inclusion in sports.

Elizabeth Dowdeswell, the lieutenant-governor of Ontario, toured the pavilion and chatted with PrideHouse visitors gathered to watch the 2015 Games.

The day was topped off with a visit and speech by Toronto Mayor John Tory, who spoke at a PrideHouse reception.

“This PrideHouse and this city are really setting a standard for everyone to feel empowered to be the best that they are and can be at school, at work, in the arts and in sports,” he said.
