Transgender beauty queen allowed to compete in Miss Universe competition

The Miss Universe Organization has felt the pressure and finally relented on their decision to disqualify British Columbia native Jenna Talackova from the Miss Universe Canada competition. GLAAD laid on the heat, but the last straw might’ve been when Jenna hired attorney Gloria Allred. That’s one woman you don’t want to mess with! She has every trash rag and blogger on speed dial. Miss Universe Canada released a statement saying:

“The Miss Universe Organization will allow Jenna Talackova to compete in the 2012 Miss Universe Canada pageant provided she meets the legal gender recognition requirements of Canada, and the standards established by other international competitions.”
