Ugandan activists ready to parade again

Second Pride march planned as part of country's 2013 Pride Week

Ugandan gay rights activist Frank Mugisha talks about Uganda’s first Pride celebration, which took place in 2012.

Ugandan activists are preparing to hold a Pride march during their country's second Pride Week, which runs until Aug 5. Ugandan gay rights activist Frank Mugisha told Xtra's Andrea Houston about the plans when he sat down with her for a recent interview in Toronto (see video).

Mugisha also spoke about Uganda's first Pride Week, which took place in 2012. Activists then waved rainbow flags in defiance of the country's anti-gay laws despite the potential for violence and arrests.
