Wilde’s vandalism case delayed until March

Documents on Richard Cormier's mental health haven't reached Crown

A man charged with mischief for allegedly putting a steel garbage can through a Bank St gay sex shop storefront has had his case remanded until next month.

Last fall, in an interview with Xtra, Richard Cormier, 54, said he plans to plead guilty to mischief under $5,000.

To determine his mental health, the court ordered a psychological assessment, which was supposed to be completed Feb 16. But because the assessment has not been faxed to duty counsel and submitted to the Crown, proceedings have been delayed.

Cormier is scheduled to be in mental health court March 7.
