Provincial Election need to know…and update on VNGTM

Bet you didn’t know I used to write speeches for Gordon Campbell. And if you did, here’s me putting this online: no matter what your politics are, you should respect him for his accomplishments (of which, there are many). He has a good sense of humour. He’s also quick on his feet. And he truly believes in what he’s doing for the province. I think this video (a clip from the Rick Mercer Report – nice gay tie in. Eh? EH?) will show you another side of our Premier:

Now, if you haven’t heard, things over at Vancouver’s Next Gay Top Model are coming to a boil. The boys completed a Sweat Under Gear challenge last Sunday and our 9 finalists are now progressing to the FINAL on Thu Apr 2 at Celebrities Nightclub.

Here’s a video by David Sandford (www.davidsandford.com) – who’s your favourite???

Better decide – whoever it is needs your votes to win. Here’s a press release telling you everything you need to know:

VANCOUVER‘s NEXT GAY TOP MODEL Grand Finale: Thursday, April 2nd, 2009 @ Celebrities Nightclub. 9pm doors; 10pm show. $25 advance tickets now on sale at Little Sisters Bookstore, proceeds to Friends for Life. www.gaytopmodel.com

Vancouver is called to vote for Gay Top Model

Rated as “one of the most fun events in a long time to capture Vancouver’s imagination” [celebrityblogblog] and “the best night of my life” by many audience members, Vancouver’s Next Gay Top Model is ready to roll out the red-carpet for the grand finale of its second season, at Celebrities Nightclub, on Thursday, April 2nd. Audiences are invited to participate and vote via text message the night of the event – you must be at Celebrities in order to vote. Tickets are available at Little Sisters Bookstore and the proceeds benefit the charity Friends for Life.

Terry Costa, the producer and director of the project, who has been called “a consummate showman of the Barnum-and-Bailey’s variety” [XtraWest] admits that VNGTM2009 night is sure set to dazzle a few more non-believers. “This is a night where all stops are pulled and nothing is left in the closet” says Costa, “amidst the gorgeous contestants, a team of artists are ready to perform their show-stopping hits and a parade of guests are set to participate in the show while Mathieu Chantelois ties it all together as the main host for the evening.

Chantelois is best known as the host of COVERguy on OUTtv. He was part of the longest reality TV show in history U8TV: The Lofters, created SoGayTV, is the editor-in-chief of Famous Quebec and also a CBC Television host.

DJ Zach Shore returns as well as composer extraordinaire and performer Armstrong Jr. “Gay Top Model is another avenue for gay people to come together and celebrate. It involves fashion, good looking men and music. I enjoy the fact that I can take part in this amazing show and be apart of the community,” comments Shore. Armstrong Jr. and Jerome Mandrake have updated their original theme song “Gonna be the Next Top Model” with a new feel for the 2009 opening extravaganza. Artists joining them on the performance stage are Peter Breeze, mArte, the Queen of Samba, and drag diva Jaylene.

Special guests include the 2008 winner of Vancouver’s Next Gay Top Model, Aaron Ursacki, who will announce his successor; our very own Mr. Gay Canada, Darren Bruce, who will announce his successor for the Gay Top Model 2008 Sweat Under Gear Challenge; actor/author and man of all traits Charlie David presents the winning couple that will grace the cover of his upcoming novel Boy Midflight; and many more special moments are being developed for the Oscar-style night.

April 2nd at Celebrities Nightclub is the return of the “one part community activism, and one part imitating reality TV” night as The Georgia Straight put it last year; Vancouver’s Next Gay Top Model is ready to razzle-dazzle with surprises for its audience that include a feast for the eyes, ears and heart. This is the night you do not want to miss, live and uncensored!
